Drawing from my digital calendar, I make paintings, drawings and paper sculpture that explore my anxious relationship with time. It baffles me that while I embrace organization and efficiency, I feel constantly behind. My artwork is a foil to the pressure to be productive, the culture of "time management," because it's slow and about process. I enjoy watercolor and paper for their refusal to be controlled, unlike our calendars.

I work both intuitively and systematically, using grids and code as shorthand logs, blocks of color to signify categories of activity, and minimal drawings. Music is a vital muse, inspiring several of my titles. With these varied approaches, I mine my internal landscape of daily decisions to better understand my purpose – and thereby make better use of my time.
